Ocene to distribute LANXESS group’s ion exchange resins in France

LANXESS entrusts distribution of its ion exchange resins to Ocene

The Ion Exchange Resin (ION) business unit of German specialty chemicals group LANXESS has decided to entrust Ocene with the distribution of its range of Lewatit® ion exchange resins in France. Ocene has been a LANXESS partner for more than 10 years for the Rheinkalk Akdolit range of filtration and neutralization products. Ocene, based at Louvigné-du-Désert (Brittany), is now responsible for distributing Lewatit® ion exchange resins for water treatment in applications as varied as industrial process water, softening, groundwater pollution control and wastewater treatment, etc. Ocene serves both, water treatment companies and end customers.

Corinne Mandin, head of the ION business unit at LANXESS in France, states that "Ocene is a dynamic team, in touch with its customers, whether they are water treatment companies or end users. That’s why I'm very happy to see a stronger partnership developing with this company."

Jean-Philippe Crocq, Chairman of Ocene says: "Ocene has had a special relationship with LANXESS for over 10 years and will remain a close partner. Market trends and LANXESS's refocusing of certain strategic choices prompted us to consider the relevance of their offer. Given the maturity of the Lewatit® range, we are delighted to be the new distributor on the French market."

LANXESS: More than 70 years' experience in water treatment

With its range of high quality products – Lewatit® brand ion exchange resins, adsorbents and functional polymers – LANXESS has more than 70 years of experience in supplying not just high-performance products for water treatment but also technical advice. The high technology resins are used in particular for water treatment and energy generation, in microelectronics, for producing drinking water and for treating foodstuffs. To supplement its two sites in Germany, LANXESS is currently building a new ion exchange resin plant at Jhagadia in India, which will be commissioned before the end of the year and will be the most modern of its kind in Asia. Its products will in particular be used in the production of ultrapure water for pharmaceutical laboratories and the semiconductor industry, for treating industrial water, in the food industry and in electricity generation.

LANXESS is also currently building a new production unit in Bitterfeld (Germany) which will develop and manufacture membrane filtration products.
