Intercultural Exchange Event - Strategy meeting of the BU ION in India

The management team of BU ION got together for the semi-annual strategy meeting in India

In the week from February 1 to 5, the management of the Business Unit Ion Exchange Resins (BU ION) got together for a major management meeting in Mumbai and Jhagadia. Of course there was a good reason for choosing India as the location: A new production facility for ion exchange resins, which is to be commissioned at the end of this year, is currently under construction in Jhagadia.

Among other things, a tour of the construction site for the new production facility was on the agenda. The two local project managers, Uwe Tegtmeyer and Namitesh Roychoudhary, led their colleagues through the construction site. They explained the key technical details and commented on the progress of the project. Michael Zobel, Head of BU ION, was very satisfied with the state of affairs: “The construction project in Jhagadia is proceeding right on schedule. This new facility will help us meet future increases in market demand and allow us to benefit from ongoing growth.”

As part of the meeting which lasted several days, the German colleagues also received intercultural training – with a focus on Indian culture, of course. Participants met with their new Indian colleagues from production and technology. Among other things, strategic issues such as dealing with the impact of the global economic crisis on LANXESS were also discussed at this meeting.
