Grand Entrance for the Elixir of Life: LANXESS at “Everything About Water Expo 2010” in India

Business Unit Ion Exchange Resins (BU ION) got very good customer response

 

Water was clearly in the focus at the “Everything About Water Expo” that took place from January 7-9 2010 in Chennai, India. The Ion Exchange Resins business unit (BU ION) had set up a booth at the trade fair for the second time in order to present their high performance Lewatit® products and services connected to water.

 

The expo was was inaugurated by AC Muthiah, Chairman of the SPIC Group who has already received many awards from the Indian government for his humanitarian work in Tamilnadu. AC Muthiah also visited the LANXESS booth and was shown around by Prakash Shanmugam, Head Ion Exchange Resins of LANXESS India and Wolfgang Heuchel, Vice President Asia Pacific, BU ION. Especially the premium products that were on display at the booth - for example the established Lewatit® range for the fields of industrial water treatment, catalysis, chemicals processing and food – caught the attention of the visitors.

 

“In comparison to 2009, the show this is year has significantly improved, it reflects the good prospect for water and waste water treatment industry in India. Bigger booths and representation by many manufacturers can only indicate that this industry is being recognized as a profitable enterprise here. The booth reflects our confidence and steady presence in this sector”, said Wolfgang Heuchel at the trade fair. Also Rudolf Wagner, Manager of Technical Applications in Ion Exchange, came to Chennai to give two technical presentations, which were recieved very well by the audience.

 

With over 200 exhibitors and excellent customer response, the “Everything About Water Expo” is one of the most important trade fairs covering that topic.
Prakash Shanmugam was pleased with the initial meetings in the show and remarked that “customers here follow the progress of our Jhagadia plant with great interest. They are excited about the fact that LANXESS will produce the high performance Lewatit® ion exchange resins locally”.
