Business Unit Ion Exchange Resins (BU ION) holds meeting for the region Asia and Pacific in Tokyo

Update and discuss plans for action for 2010

Ion Exchange Resin business unit of LANXESS Japan was very happy to host this year's annual concept meeting for the ION business in APAC* which was held from November 24 to 26. Together with the ION managers of China, Korea, India and Singapore, the Japanese ION team had the opportunity to discuss the strategy for the next year with the global BU head of ION, Dr. Michael Zobel. He shared the different challenges and great opportunities that lay ahead. In particular, the inauguration of the new ion exchange resins plant in Jhagadia, India is expected as a major milestone for next year. In return, the country managers of ION not only highlighted the business situations in their respective countries but also intensively discussed their requirements with the ION Global Head of Marketing, Peter Steglich and the ION Regional Manager for APAC, Wolfgang Heuchel. Tetsu Yamamoto stated, "With support from all LANXESS Japan ION members, I believe we successfully carried out a really intensive and fruitful discussion here in Tokyo, and also believe the meeting helped us strengthen and recognize ourselves as one team. We cultivated an atmosphere of having unity among diversity. "

The conference was a great and sincere moment to give farewell to Stefan Hilger, the ION Regional Technical Manager for APAC. Over the last 2 years, Stefan Hilger, a well recognized expert in the area of ion exchange technologies, has been an enormous help in fostering not only reputation and new business leads in the region but also knowledge and expertise among the Asian ION team. Fortunately, ION and APAC are not losing him since he returns to the headquarters and takes over responsibility as global Marketing Segment Manager for Industrial Water Treatment. As his successor in the role of Regional Technical Manager for ASEAN/ANZ**, Beryn Adams was cordially welcomed.
