Japanese award for LANXESS experts

Prize for work in the field of ion exchange resins
Three LANXESS members were recently presented with the Technology Award by the Japan Association of Ion Exchange (JAIE). Olaf Halle, Kunihiro Ohira and Shigeyoshi Miyahara from the Ion Exchange Resins business unit received the award for their contribution on new Lewatit monodisperse chelate resins. The award was made following a guest lecture given by the Leverkusen ion exchange resins expert Halle at the 20th anniversary of the JAIE at the University of Yamanashi, Japan.

The prize is awarded to JAIE members – individuals or companies – who have distinguished themselves through their excellent research work, technological development or through their outstanding service to the field of ion exchange resins.

The LANXESS monodisperse chelate resins presented in Dr. Halle's lecture have significantly better efficiency than conventional heterodisperse products. The premium products are used predominantly to win and separate metals in the mining industry, for the treatment of brine and for the environmentally friendly production of bleach liquor and caustic soda solution by the membrane process.
