Spain: LANXESS at Smagua Show in Zaragoza

Business Unit Ion Exchange Resins presented itself at the largest water fair in Spain.

At the recent Smagua trade show in Zaragoza (Spain), the country’s largest event for the water industry, the LANXESS stand was the meeting point for customers of Business Unit Ion Exchange Resins (BU ION) from the Lewatit and Ionac ion exchanger industry. The show was held for the 18th time already and attracts more and more visitors every year: the previous event in 2006 had 1,528 stands from 38 countries, whereas in 2008 this increased to 1,725 stands from 39 countries, occupying an area of 860,000 square feet.

“Our stand was visited by many of our customers who showed great interest in our developments and particularly in our new ion exchangers for water treatment,” Jordi Anguera reported, Country Manager Spain & Portugal.

At the opening ceremony, Spanish politicians emphasized the need for continued cooperation to improve water quality. The main topics for 2008 included the environment, reclamation of waste water, the global water industry, and innovations for improved water quality.
